Project Regulus
A downloadable game
Hi! This is my game prototype. play as 3 different characters; Vidar, Helen and Korp. Each character has different abilities/items to use against enemies, to solve puzzles and traverse terrain. My inspiration comes from playing Zelda 1, Bomberman 64 and the Donkey kong country games.
Game structure is going from stage to stage, after four stages there's a mini boss and after two more stages there is a main boss. the stages can be pretty straight forward, you start a level and try and reach the goal, However there are these ancient books and gems to collect. these ancient books are hidden in chests, breakable boxes or locked behind some kind of requirment.
gems are meant to be collected and used to buy helpful items/extra lives. this however is not in the prototype!
Character abilities/items:
Vidar:
Vidar can use his wooden sword to attack enemies and also carry a flame projectile, he can also air-roll which means he can roll over small gaps where you would otherwise fall to your doom.
Helen:
Helen can use her restoration magic to restore objects to their past state. meaning if something is broken you could try and us this magic to restore it to being funcrionable again. She also carries bottles of health potions, good to use when you have been fighting a lot... or badly ;). But thats not all, she can also use her ghost magic and see hidden pathways.
Korp:
korp can use his remote controller to shoot out infrared and bluetooth beams! shoot these projectiles towards mechanical generators and consoles to turn on a moving platform etc. he can also use his drill to drill though weak rocks and walls. on top of all that he can also wall climb on slanted walls ^^
play with either a gamepad or keyboard. to switch controls press start/enter and go to options and down to where it says "type of device" and just move the joystick left/right or with A/D/left or right arrow keys on keyboard.
